Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP to the Scottish Government or the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. The questions provide a means for MSPs to get factual and statistical information.

  • Written questions must be answered within 10 working days (20 working days during recess)
  • Other questions such as Topical, Portfolio, General and First Minister's Question Times are taken in the Chamber

To ask the Scottish Government what steps it has taken to (a) implement the repeal of the sections of schedule 6, part 2 of the Coronavirus (Scotland) Act 2020 that sought to extend the deadlines for responding to FOI requests and reviews and (b) respond to FOI requests within 20 working days, and how many (i) FOI requests (A) were and (B) were not responded to within 20 working days during the period that these sections were in force, (ii) FOI requests it has not responded to within 20 working days in each of the last six months, (iii) requests for an FOI request internal review it is currently processing and (iv) FOI request appeals the Scottish Information Commissioner has received in the last six months as a result of a refusal or partial refusal by the Scottish Government to provide information to the public.
