Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP to the Scottish Government or the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. The questions provide a means for MSPs to get factual and statistical information.

  • Written questions must be answered within 10 working days (20 working days during recess)
  • Other questions such as Topical, Portfolio, General and First Minister's Question Times are taken in the Chamber

To ask the Scottish Government what building or planning rules regulate the distance that a public lamppost can be from a private dwelling, and what rights property owners have to appeal or contest decisions regarding the distance.

To ask the Scottish Government what recent discussions it has had with NHS Lothian regarding A&E waiting times at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and, in light of recent ISD Scotland figures, which recorded that 62.7% of people waiting at the department were seen within four hours, what action (a) it and (b) the NHS board is taking to address waiting times at the hospital, including whether it will provide funding additional to that allocated in the 2018-19 Budget.
