To ask the Scottish Government what steps it is taking to ensure that the forthcoming 10-year cancer strategy improves survival and outcomes for the less survivable forms of cancer, such as liver cancer.

Our ambitious 10-year cancer strategy, due to be published in early summer, will be under-pinned by action plans which will evolve with the changing cancer landscape. The strategy will take a comprehensive approach to improving patient pathways from prevention and diagnosis through to treatment and post-treatment care.

It will encompass a new earlier cancer diagnosis vision for Scotland and will continue to focus on those cancer types that are the largest burden and have poorer survival, in particular the less survivable cancers, including liver cancer.

To ask the Scottish Government when it will provide a response to the National Childhood Bereavement Project report, Growing Up Grieving, which was published in September 2022.

The Scottish Government funded a national Childhood Bereavement Coordinator project, which concluded in September 2022 with the publication of the final report ‘Growing Up Grieving’. The Co-ordinator’s report included 7 recommendations, which span a number of portfolios across Scottish Government. The publication of the report coincided with that of the UK Commission on Bereavement, and many of the principles in the UK report align with those of the Scottish National Childhood Bereavement Co-ordinator. The Scottish Government is considering how best to implement the recommendations.

To ask the Scottish Government when it will revoke the Clydeport (COP 26 etc.) Harbour Revision Order 2021.

The Clydeport (COP 26 etc.) Harbour Revision Order (HRO) will not be revoked. The Order was put in place to cover a number of issues, including granting extraordinary powers to Clydeport for security purposes during COP26. As detailed in the Order, the extraordinary powers granted to Clydeport automatically terminated at 11.59pm on 15 November 2021, which was the last day of COP26. The Clydeport (COP 26 etc.) Harbour Revision Order was subjected to the full statutory approval process applied to all HROs.
