To ask the Scottish Government, in light of its report, Renewing Our Commitments, and the establishment of a fund for specialist mental health services for veterans, what action it is taking to help young recruits who have post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Answer
The Ministry of Defence is responsible for the healthcare of serving personnel through the Defence Medical Services (DMS). The primary role of the DMS is to promote, protect and restore the health of service personnel to ensure that they are ready and medically fit to serve.
For those individuals who leave the Armed Forces and have a mental health problem, arrangements will be put in place while the transition to civilian life is made to ensure mental health needs are met. NHS Scotland provides a range of mental health care, support and treatment for those who need it, including for PTSD.

To ask the Scottish Government how many community right to buy cases have been approved since April 2016 and how many are under consideration.
Answer
Since 15 April 2016, when the revised legislation came into effect, there have been seven Community Right to Buy applications to register a community interest in land.
Of those applications to register a community interest in land, four have been approved (registered), one rejected, one withdrawn and one is under consideration.
Two registrations are currently proceeding through the right to buy stage. These are at an early stage and will be considered for approval by me in due course.

To ask the Scottish Government what action it is taking to encourage greater gender balance on boards and whether any further initiatives are planned.
Answer
The Scottish Government is taking decisive action to ensure women are represented in senior and decision making roles, including in the boardroom. The government will legislate for gender balance on public sector boards in the first year of this Parliament. Using the new powers transferred through the Scotland Act, the Bill will lock in the gains we have already made to improve the number of women on public boards.
We also continue to champion our Partnership for Change 50/50 by 2020 campaign, encouraging organisations and businesses from the private, third, and public sectors, to make a voluntary commitment to work towards gender balance on their boards by 2020.
