Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP to the Scottish Government or the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. The questions provide a means for MSPs to get factual and statistical information.

  • Written questions must be answered within 10 working days (20 working days during recess)
  • Other questions such as Topical, Portfolio, General and First Minister's Question Times are taken in the Chamber

To ask the Scottish Executive what the standards are that are referred to in paragraph 17 of chapter 3 of National Objectives for Social Work Services in the Criminal Justice System: Standards - Community Service and where they are set out.

To ask the Scottish Executive whether there are restrictions on people on a work placement as part of a community service order working on the maintenance or improvement of private property and, if so, whether communal property not used for commercial gain would be considered to be private property in these circumstances.
