To ask the Scottish Government what the 2015-16 budget is for the Haudagain roundabout improvements; how much has been allocated for (a) 2016-17 and (b) 2017-18, and whether these budgets were revised as a result of the proposals in the Draft Budget 2016-17 and, if so, what the changes were.
Answer
The projected spend for Haudagain (excluding land) is £0.7 million in 2015-16, £1.5 million in 2016-17 and £9.6 million in 2017-18.
The 2016-17 funding announced in the draft budget will continue essential preparation work and, subject to completing the necessary statutory procedures, commence the procurement of a contractor to start construction work following completion of the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route.

To ask the Scottish Government when the design and development work in preparation for the improvements to the Haudagain roundabout began.
Answer
Following resolution of the legal challenge submitted against the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route, design consultants for the Haudagain scheme were appointed in May 2013. Their work confirmed that the original preferred option through Middlefield best met the scheme objectives. Thereafter the preferred option was developed with draft road orders published in June 2015 for formal comment.

To ask the Scottish Government whether the new IT system for NHS 24 was fully tested before it went live in October 2015 and, if so, (a) when and (b) with what results.
Answer
Yes, a robust testing programme was completed in advance of the recent system implementation. The NHS 24 review of that implementation will include a review of the testing programme, which will be included in the report due to be provided by NHS 24 to Scottish Government at the end of December 2015.

To ask the Scottish Government whether the previous IT system at NHS 24 has been used since the new system failed in October 2015 and, if so, whether it has worked as intended.
Answer
The current patient contact management system, which has been used to provide safe and effective health care advice and information since the establishment of NHS 24 over 10 years ago, was restored for use following the decision to pause the replacement system from 7 November 2015. The original system has worked as intended thus enabling NHS 24 to continue to deliver safe and effective services for the people of Scotland.

To ask the Scottish Government what options are being considered for the future IT provision at NHS 24, and when the final decision will be made.
Answer
NHS24 is carrying out an internal review and will be looking to reintroduce the system as soon as it is safe to do so. I have asked for a report by the end of 2015.
NHS 24 is a nurse-led service and I have asked Chief Nursing Officer Fiona McQueen to provide work alongside NHS 24 to provide reassurance around future implementation plans.

Answer
There was no upgrade option available for the previous system. The current NHS 24 patient contact management system has been in use since the establishment of NHS 24 over 10 years ago.
