To ask the Scottish Executive how many accidents involving vehicles were reported on the A739 (a) southbound and (b) northbound at the Clyde Tunnel in each year from 1997 to 2007, broken down by month.
Answer
The following table gives the number of reported injury road accidents which were identified as occurring on the A739 in the vicinity of the Clyde tunnel between 1997 and 2006. Road accidents can involve more than one vehicle and they could each be travelling in different directions. However, all the vehicles involved in the accidents shown in the table were northbound.

To ask the Scottish Executive how many people in the Dumbarton parliamentary constituency have applied for free bus travel.
Answer
The legislation for the national concessionary scheme does not require us to hold this level of information relating to the number of applications made for free bus travel.
Statistics relating to the number of National Entitlement Cards issued to eligible participants in the National Concessionary scheme are available by local authority area.
At 28 February 2008 the number of National Entitlement Cards, which give an entitlement to Scotland-Wide Free Bus Travel issued to East Dunbartonshire Council residents was 22,524 and to West Dunbartonshire Council residents 19,118.
