To ask the Scottish Executive what specific guidance it received from its road network managers in connection with the recent tendering exercise for trunk road maintenance.
Answer
Road engineers employed in the Network Management and Maintenance Division of the Transport Group advised on the drafting and were responsible for the review of the specification which sets the service standards for the new contract.
