Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP to the Scottish Government or the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. The questions provide a means for MSPs to get factual and statistical information.

  • Written questions must be answered within 10 working days (20 working days during recess)
  • Other questions such as Topical, Portfolio, General and First Minister's Question Times are taken in the Chamber

To ask the Scottish Government, further to the comment in its 2015-16 programme for government that thermal generation will "continue to be an important part of Scotland’s electricity mix in the foreseeable future”, when it will announce details of its plans to ensure the delivery of thermal generation that relies on carbon capture and storage, and how it will ensure that this is sufficiently financed.
