Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP to the Scottish Government or the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. The questions provide a means for MSPs to get factual and statistical information.

  • Written questions must be answered within 10 working days (20 working days during recess)
  • Other questions such as Topical, Portfolio, General and First Minister's Question Times are taken in the Chamber

To ask the Scottish Government what discussions it has had with the UK Government regarding the planned closure of the HMRC office in East Kilbride, and what information it has been given regarding how many HMRC staff will (a) remain in the town when phase one of the opening of the Glasgow Regional Centre is complete and (b) be employed in Glasgow when HMRC fully withdraws from East Kilbride in 2026.
