To ask the Scottish Government whether the terms of employment for police officers are uniform across forces.
Answer
Police officers are “office holders” not employees and their terms and conditions are set out primarily in the Police (Scotland) Regulations 2004 that apply equally to all police officers in Scotland.

To ask the Scottish Government, further to the answer to question S3W-33599 by Michael Russell on 27 May 2010, whether (a) detention of children in Dungavel Immigration Removal Centre, (b) the transfer of children of asylum seekers from Scotland to detention elsewhere in the UK and (c) dawn raids in Scotland has/have ended.
Answer
The Scottish Government does not hold the information requested due to this being a reserved matter and therefore for the UK Government to respond to.
The Scottish Government continues to be opposed to the detention of children for immigration purposes. My officials will continue to monitor how the new family returns process is affecting asylum seeking families in Scotland and I await the outcomes of the findings on the evaluation of this policy by the UK Government.

To ask the Scottish Government whether a record is kept of how many victims of child abuse are also young carers and, if so, how many such cases there have been in each of the last five years.
Answer
This information is not held by the Scottish Government. If the victim of child abuse is a young carer, then the usual local child protection procedures should apply.

Young people who are not in education can access all of Skills Development Scotland’s career services by visiting an SDS centre, by using the SDS telephone contact centre or by accessing online services through My World of Work.
Young people not in education are a priority group for SDS and their staff work closely with this vulnerable group in order to ensure they are provided with targeted support to progress their employment prospects.
