Written questions must be answered within 10 working days (20 working days during recess)

To ask the Scottish Executive how many weekend rosters have included paramedics at the Vale of Leven Ambulance Station in each of the last six months.

The Scottish Ambulance Service have advised that rosters for the Vale of Leven Ambulance Station include paramedics on a 24/7 basis, including on the weekend. I refer the member to the answer to question S4W-02448 on 21 September 2011.

To ask the Scottish Executive how many Scottish Ambulance Service ambulances are based at (a) Clydebank and (b) Vale of Leven ambulance station.

The Scottish Ambulance Service has provided the following table setting out rostered resources based at Clydebank Ambulance Station.

*The day, night and back shifts will cover a variety of shift patterns.

The Scottish Ambulance Service have confirmed that the accident and emergency ambulances operating from Clydebank Ambulance Station are rostered to be double-crewed by a paramedic and a technician, and that the PRU is rostered to be crewed by a paramedic.

To ask the Scottish Executive whether referral to treatment waiting time targets apply to chronic pain services and, if so, whether any penalties have been incurred.

Patients referred to chronic pain clinics are covered by the 18 weeks referral to treatment target. The 18 weeks target which came into effect on 31 December 2011 is that 90% of patients should be seen and treated within 18 weeks from referral.

Latest published figures for September 2011 showed that 89.8% of patients were seen and treated within 18 weeks from initial referral. Performance against the target for 31 December 2011 is due to be published on 28 February 2012.
