Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP to the Scottish Government or the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. The questions provide a means for MSPs to get factual and statistical information.

  • Written questions must be answered within 10 working days (20 working days during recess)
  • Other questions such as Topical, Portfolio, General and First Minister's Question Times are taken in the Chamber

To ask the Scottish Government, further to the answer to question S5W-25551 by Derek Mackay on 8 October 2019, in light of the cabinet secretary's comments regarding the experience, efficacy and impact of the existing financial transaction funding arrangements, for what reason the Scottish National Investment Bank (SNIB) is being established, and what consideration it gave to (a) using the existing Scottish Investment Bank and (b) carrying a specific review of the current arrangements before making the decision to establish the SNIB.
