Questions and answers

Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP to the Scottish Government or the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. The questions provide a means for MSPs to get factual and statistical information.

  • Written questions must be answered within 10 working days (20 working days during recess)
  • Other questions such as Topical, Portfolio, General and First Minister's Question Times are taken in the Chamber

To ask the Scottish Executive further to the answer to question S1W-23283 by Mr Jim Wallace on 20 March 2002 regarding security in the woodwork shed at HM Prison Kilmarnock, whether the Executive endorses the position of Tony Cameron, Chief Executive of the Scottish Prison Service (SPS) that the "SPS is satisfied with the performance of the establishment" in view of the report in the Scottish Daily Mail on 11 March 2002 regarding a claw-hammer attack on an inmate in the shed.
