Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP to the Scottish Government or the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. The questions provide a means for MSPs to get factual and statistical information.

  • Written questions must be answered within 10 working days (20 working days during recess)
  • Other questions such as Topical, Portfolio, General and First Minister's Question Times are taken in the Chamber

To ask the Scottish Executive, further to the answer to question S2W-15791 by Cathy Jamieson on 10 May 2005, how many of the reports recorded involving racism proceeded to a prosecution which included a charge of racist aggravation and in how many of these cases the prosecution was successful in each year since 1999, broken down by police force area.

To ask the Scottish Executive, with reference to the report in The Herald on 3 March 2005 anent the threatened removal of dental degrees from the Glasgow Dental School, when ministers were first made aware of these issues and whether the Deputy Minister for Health and Community Care will report to the Parliament on the outcome of her talks with the Principal of Glasgow University.
