Questions and answers

Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP to the Scottish Government or the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. The questions provide a means for MSPs to get factual and statistical information.

  • Written questions must be answered within 10 working days (20 working days during recess)
  • Other questions such as Topical, Portfolio, General and First Minister's Question Times are taken in the Chamber

To ask the Scottish Government what action it will take in response to the Skills Development Scotland report, Economy, People and Skills, published in March 2023, which reported that, for the period from November 2022 to January 2023, there was an increase of 5,000 unemployed young people compared with the same period in the previous year.

To ask the Scottish Government what its response is to recent UCAS Equal Consideration application deadline data for 2023, in light of reports that, for Scotland-domiciled students of all ages, there has been a 23% reduction in applicants to nursing courses and a 25% reduction in applicants to teacher training courses.
