Interests

Foysol Choudhury (Lothian) (Lab)

Good morning, everyone, and welcome to the first meeting in session 6 of the Social Justice and Social Security Committee. As the oldest member of the committee, I have the pleasure of convening the meeting for the first two items of business. I take this opportunity to welcome all members. I look forward to working with you all.

Before we move to the first item on the agenda, I remind everyone to switch off mobile phones—I hope that everyone has done that already. We do not have any apologies.

The first agenda item is declarations of interests. I do not have any interests to declare. I will now go to members in alphabetical order.

I point out that I am on the high rate of personal independence payment for care.

I have no interests to declare.

I declare that I am a councillor on Renfrewshire Council, just in case any of the matters that we discuss coincide with that.

Pam Duncan-Glancy (Glasgow) (Lab)

I have two interests that I would like to declare. The first is that I worked for Public Health Scotland until 11 May, at which point I was elected and resigned the post. In addition, I am in receipt of the higher rate of personal independence payment for both the care and the mobility components.

I need to declare that I was the deputy convener of the Social Justice and Fairness Commission, which reported earlier this year. I have no further declarations to make.

I have no interests to declare.

I, too, worked on the Social Justice and Fairness Commission and I am a councillor on the Highland Council.
