1. Decision on taking business in private:
The Committee agreed to take item 5 in private.
2. Follow-up inquiry into salmon farming in Scotland:
The Committee took evidence from—
John Goodlad, Chair, Salmon Interactions Working Group;
and then from—
Dr Alan Wells, Chief Executive, Fisheries Management Scotland.
Edward Mountain declared an interest as a partner in a wild salmon fishery.
3. UK subordinate legislation:
The Committee considered a proposal by the Scottish Government to consent to the UK Government legislating in a devolved area as set out in the following UK statutory instrument proposal—
Windsor Framework (Retail Movement Scheme: Plant and Animal Health) Regulations 2024
The Committee agreed that the provisions set out in the notification should be included in the UK SI.
4. Follow-up inquiry into salmon farming in Scotland (In Private):
The Committee agreed to review the evidence heard at a later meeting.
5. Petition PE1758: End greyhound racing in Scotland (In Private):
The Committee considered a draft report. Various changes were agreed to. The Committee agreed to consider a revised draft by correspondence.
