1. Hunting with Dogs (Scotland) Bill:

The Committee took evidence on the Bill at Stage 1 from—

Màiri McAllan, Minister for Environment and Land Reform, Hugh Dignon,Head of Wildlife and Flood Management Unit, Leia Fitzgerald,Team Leader, Wildlife Legislation Team and Hazel Reilly,Lawyer, Scottish Government.

2. Subordinate legislation:

The Committee considered the following negative instruments—

Seed (Fees) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2022;

Meat Preparations (Import Conditions) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2022;

Vegetable Plant Material and Fruit Plant and Propagating Material (EU Exit) (Scotland) (Amendment) Regulations 2022.

The Committee agreed to make no recommendations in relation to the instruments.

3. UK subordinate legislation:

The Committee considered proposals by the Scottish Government to consent to the UK Government legislating using the powers under the European Union Withdrawal Act 2018 Act in relation to the following UK statutory instrument proposals—

Aquatic Animal Health (Amendment) Regulations 2022;

Animals, Food and Feed, Plant Health, Plant Propagating Material and Seeds (Miscellaneous Amendments etc.) Regulations 2022.

The Committee agreed that the provisions set out in the notifications should be included in the UK SIs.
