1. Hunting with Dogs (Scotland) Bill:

The Committee took evidence on the Bill at Stage 1 from—

Hugh Dignon, Head of Wildlife and Flood Management Unit, Leia Fitzgerald,Team Leader, Wildlife Legislation Team, Hazel Reilly,Solicitor and Amy Hogarth,Solicitor, Scottish Government .

2. UK subordinate legislation:

The Committee considered a proposal by the Scottish Government to consent to the UK Government legislating using the powers under the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 in relation to the following UK statutory instrument proposal—

Official Controls (Extension of Transitional Periods) (Amendment) Regulations 2022

The Committee agreed that the provisions set out in the notifications should be included in the UK SI.

The Committee agreed to write to the Scottish Government with questions in relation to the instrument.

The Committee considered the evidence it heard earlier in the meeting.
