The Committee agreed to take items 4 and 5 in private.

2. Scotland’s Climate Assembly:

The Committee took evidence on the Scottish Government’s response to the Assembly’s recommendations from—

Ellie Clarke, Member, Lewis Elliott, Member, Joan Lawson, Member and Susie Townend, Secretariat, Scotland’s Climate Assembly.

3. Subordinate legislation:

The Committee considered the following negative instruments—

Financial Assistance for Environmental Purposes (Scotland) Order 2022
Scottish Road Works Register (Prescribed Fees) Regulations 2022
M8/M73/M74 Motorways (30mph, 40mph and 50mph Speed Limit) Regulations 2022

The Committee agreed to make no recommendations in relation to the instruments.

4. Scotland’s Climate Assembly (in private):

The Committee considered the evidence it heard earlier under agenda item 2.

5. National Planning Framework 4 (in private):

The Committee considered a draft letter to the Local Government, Housing and Planning Committee.

Various amendments were agreed to. The Committee agreed to consider further amendments by correspondence and to delegate authority to the Convener to sign off the letter.
