1. Decision on taking business in private:

The Committee agreed to take item 3 in private.

2. Scottish Local Authorities Remuneration Committee:

The Committee took evidence on SLARC’s Recommendations for Councillors’ Remuneration and Expenses from—

Angela Leitch CBE, Convenor, Peter Argyle, Rosie Docherty, Martin McElroy and Laura Simpson, Members, Scottish Local Authorities Remuneration Committee (SLARC);

and then from—

Councillor Shona Morrison, President, Councillor Steven Heddle, Vice President and Brianna Fletcher, Policy Officer, Human Rights and Equalities, COSLA.

Ariane Burgess MSP declared an interest as her brother is a Councillor.

Gordon MacDonald MSP also declared an interest as his wife is a Councillor.

3. Scottish Local Authorities Remuneration Committee (in private):

The Committee considered the evidence heard earlier in the meeting.

4. Housing (Scotland) Bill (in private):

The Committee agreed its approach to scrutiny of the Bill at Stage 1.
