Publication of the Fourth National Planning Framework
I am writing to request details of the timing of the publication of the Fourth National Planning Framework. The Scottish Government has indicated this will be in the autumn of 2021.
The Local Government, Housing and Planning Committee anticipates scrutinising this framework when published. As it is subject to a statutory time limit of 120 days for Scottish Parliamentary scrutiny, preparations are already underway to ensure Parliament can maximise this time.
The date of publication is essential to these preparations and I would ask that you share this information with the Committee (via the clerks), on a confidential basis if you prefer, no fewer than four weeks prior to the publication.
I look forward to hearing from you by 1200 on Monday 1 November 2021.
