1. Decisions on taking business in private:

The Committee agreed to take items 4 and 5 in private, and to take equivalent items in private at future meetings.

2. Independent Review of Gender Identity Services for Children and Young People:

The Committee took evidence from—

Dr Emilia Crighton, Director of Public Health, and Rhoda MacLeod, Head of Adult Services (Sexual Health, Police Custody & Prison Healthcare), Sandyford Sexual Health Service, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde;

Tracey Gillies, Medical Director, NHS Lothian.

Sandesh Gulhane declared an interest as a practising NHS GP.

Clare Haughey declared an interest as holding a bank nurse contract with NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

3. Subordinate legislation:

The Committee considered the following negative instrument—

Personal Injuries (NHS Charges) (Amounts) (Scotland) Amendment (No. 2) Regulations 2024

The Committee agreed to make no recommendations in relation to the instrument.

4. Independent Review of Gender Identity Services for Children and Young People (in private):

The Committee considered the evidence it heard earlier under agenda item 2.

The Committee agreed to write to Dr Emilia Crighton to request that she submit further evidence in writing.

5. Healthcare in remote and rural areas (in private):

The Committee considered a draft report. Various changes were agreed to, and the Committee agreed to consider an updated draft via correspondence.
