Further Covid-19 Funding to NHS Boards and Integration Authorities 2021-22

Letter from Humza Yousaf on Further Covid-19 Funding to NHS Boards - 26 October 2021

Dear Gillian

Further Covid-19 Funding to NHS Boards and Integration Authorities 2021-22

Following my letter of 2 July, I have confirmed today the allocation of a further £482 million for NHS Boards and Integration Authorities in 2021-22 to meet ongoing costs associated with Covid-19. This includes funding for PPE, Test and Protect and delivery of Covid-19 vaccinations. Details of this additional funding are set out in the Annex to this letter.

I can also confirm, given the impact of the pandemic on delivery of savings programmes, that funding will be provided to ensure that all NHS Boards and Integration Authorities can deliver a balanced position in 2021-22. Funding will be provided on a non-repayable basis, in line with our approach in 2020-21. The Scottish Government will continue to ensure that NHS Boards and Integration Authorities have the funding that they require to respond to Covid-19, and the Committee will be kept updated on our approach.

Humza Yousaf
Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care
