The Committee considered evidence received, agreed to write to the Scottish Government and revisit the topic in due course.
The Committee considered and noted a work programme update and further agreed to invite the new Cabinet Secretary to give evidence; seek written views on the impact of the proposed Royal Mail service changes and associated industrial action on businesses in Scotland and then invite Royal Mail to give evidence at a meeting; write to the Minister for Parliamentary Business seeking an update on the Scottish Government’s Legislative Consent Memorandum in respect of the Electronic Trade Documents Bill; receive a briefing on Retailed EU Law; consider the Deposit Return Scheme after its introduction; invite ADS to an evidence session; take evidence from FAI on its report on the economic contribution of Scotland’s pharmaceuticals sector; undertake post-legislative scrutiny of the Procurement Reform (Scotland) Act 2014 and consider a paper at a future meeting and, at the end of summer recess, hold an informal business planning session, combined with a visit.
