Minutes: 12 March 2024

1. Decision on taking business in private:

The Committee agreed to take items 3, 4 and 5 in private.

2. Instruments subject to negative procedure:

The Committee agreed that no points arose on the following— 

Dangerous Dogs (Compensation and Exemption Schemes) (Scotland) Order 2024 (SSI 2024/70)

3. Scottish Elections (Representation and Reform) Bill (in private):

The Committee considered the delegated powers provisions in this Bill at Stage 1 and greed to report to the lead Committee, the Standards, Procedures and Public Appointments Committee.

4. Automated Vehicles Bill (UK Parliament legislation) (in private):

The Committee considered the supplementary Legislative Consent Memorandum and the response received from the Scottish Government on the powers to make subordinate legislation within devolved competence conferred on Scottish Ministers and UK Ministers in the Bill. It agreed to report to the lead Committee, the Net Zero, Energy and Transport Committee.

5. Work programme (in private):

The Committee considered its upcoming session with the Minister for Parliamentary Business.
