1. Decision on taking business in private:

The Committee agreed to take items 5 and 6 in private.


2. Regulation of Legal Services (Scotland) Bill:

The Committee took evidence from—

Siobhian Brown, Minister for Victims and Community Safety, Jamie Wilhelm, Legal Services Regulation Reform Manager, Justice Directorate, Scottish Government; and

Leanna Maclarty, Solicitor, Scottish Government Legal Directorate.


3. Instruments subject to affirmative procedure:

The Committee agreed to bring to the attention of the Parliament the following—

Retained EU Law (Revocation and Reform) Act 2023 (Consequential Amendments) (Scotland) Regulations 2023 (SSI 2023/Draft)

The Committee agreed that no points arose on the following—

Colleges of Further Education and Regional Strategic Bodies (Membership of Boards) (Scotland) Order 2023 (SSI 2023/Draft)
Quality Meat Scotland (Amendment) Order 2023 (SSI 2023/Draft)




4. Instruments subject to negative procedure:

The Committee agreed that no points arose on the following—

Public Procurement (Agreement on Government Procurement) (Thresholds) (Miscellaneous Amendments) (Scotland) Regulations 2023 (SSI 2023/300)
Rural Support (Simplification and Improvement) (Scotland) Regulations 2023 (SSI 2023/308)




5. Scottish Employment Injuries Advisory Council Bill (in private):

The Committee considered the delegated powers in this Bill at Stage 1 and agreed to report to write to the Member in Charge, Mark Griffin MSP.


6. Regulation of Legal Services (Scotland) Bill (in private):

The Committee considered the evidence it heard earlier under agenda item 2 and agreed to write to the Lord President's Private Office.
