The Committee agreed to take items 7, 8, 9 and 10 in private.


2. Evidence session with the Scottish Law Commission:

The Committee took evidence from—

Lady Ann Paton, Chair and Charles Garland, Interim Chief Executive, Scottish Law Commission .



4. Instruments subject to affirmative procedure:

The Committee agreed that no points arose on the following—

Redress for Survivors (Historical Child Abuse in Care) (Exceptions to Eligibility) (Scotland) Regulations 2021 (SSI 2021/draft)




5. Instruments subject to negative procedure:

The Committee agreed that no points arose on the following—

Representation of the People (Absent Voting at Local Government Elections) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2021 (SSI 2021/317)




6. Instruments not subject to any parliamentary procedure:

The Committee agreed to draw to the attention of Parliament the following—

Local Electoral Administration and Registration Services (Scotland) Act 2006 (Commencement No. 6 and Transitional Provision) Order 2021 (SSI 2021/314 (C.21))

 

The Committee agreed that no points arose on the following—

Act of Adjournal (Criminal Procedure Rules 1996 Amendment) (Extradition) (SSI 2021/316);
Act of Sederunt (Rules of the Court of Session 1994 and Sheriff Court Company Insolvency Rules Amendment) (Insolvency) 2021 (SSI 2021/324)




7. Scottish Law Commission - Review of evidence (In Private):

The Committee considered the evidence it heard earlier.


8. Transvaginal Mesh Removal (Cost Reimbursement) (Scotland) Bill (In Private):

The Committee considered the delegated powers provisions in this Bill at Stage 1 and agreed to publish a report to the lead committee.


9. Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill (UK Parliament legislation) (In Private):

The Committee considered the powers to make subordinate legislation conferred on Scottish Ministers in the Bill and agreed to publish a report to the lead committee. It also agreed to write to the UK Government and the Scottish Government.


10. Health and Care Bill (UK Parliament legislation) (In Private):

The Committee considered the powers to make subordinate legislation conferred on Scottish Ministers in the Bill and agreed to publish a report to the lead committee. It also agreed to write to the Scottish Government.
