The Committee agreed to take item 6 in private.


2. Subordinate legislation:

The Committee took evidence on the Coronavirus (Recovery and Reform) (Scotland) Act 2022 (Early Expiry of Provisions) Regulations 2024 (SSI 2024/246) and the Coronavirus (Recovery and Reform) (Scotland) Act 2022 (Extension of Temporary Justice Measures) Regulations 2024 [draft] from—

Angela Constance, Cabinet Secretary for Justice and Home Affairs and Patrick Down, Criminal Justice Division, Scottish Government.


3. Subordinate legislation:

Angela Constance (Cabinet Secretary for Justice and Home Affairs) moved—

S6M-14590—That the Criminal Justice Committee recommends that the Coronavirus (Recovery and Reform) (Scotland) Act 2022 (Extension of Temporary Justice Measures) Regulations 2024 [draft] be approved.

The motion was agreed to (by division: For 4; Against 4; Abstentions 0). The motion was agreed to on the casting vote of the Convener.

The Committee considered the following negative instrument—
