1. Subordinate legislation:
The Committee took evidence on the Prisons and Young Offenders Institutions (Scotland) Amendment Rules 2021 from—
Keith Brown, Cabinet Secretary for Justice and Veterans, Scottish Government;
Teresa Medhurst, Interim Chief Executive and Fiona Cruickshanks, Head of Operations and Public Protection, Scottish Prison Service;
2. Subordinate legislation:
The Committee agreed to defer consideration of the Prisons and Young Offenders Institutions (Scotland) Amendment Rules 2021 (SSI 2021/446) to the next Committee meeting on 19 January 2022.
3. Subordinate legislation (In Private):
The Committee considered the evidence it heard earlier under agenda item 1. The Committee agreed to write to the Scottish Government, Police Scotland and the Scottish Prison Service.
