Conveners Group approach to committee scrutiny

Letter from the Chair of the Conveners Group to the Convener, 24 September 2021

Dear Clare,

Thank you for your letter dated 9 September regarding holding a discussion at Conveners Group around a consistent and joined up approach to committee scrutiny.

I am writing to let you know that I have allocated time at next week’s meeting to gather the views of conveners on developing a more strategic approach to scrutiny across committees and you may wish to share the comments from your letter during this discussion.

Additionally, I have included your suggestion for inviting representatives from the Finance and Constitution committee’s legacy to the papers for the meeting, which will be issued shortly.

Thank you for your suggestions and for sharing the UK Internal Market guidance document with me. I look forward to hearing the views of Conveners on this issue at the meeting next week.
