Citizen Participation and Public Petitions Committee
4th Meeting, 2022
Committees sometimes meet in private. This might be to hear confidential or particularly sensitive information, or to discuss a draft report. When a committee meets in private, its proceedings are not broadcast and, usually, there is no Official Report. However, the committee minutes will record the business taken and any decisions reached.
The Committee will consider the following continued petitions—
PE1896: Provide every primary school child in Scotland with a reusable water bottle and will take evidence from petitioners Callum Isted and James Isted;
PE1812: Protect Scotland's remaining ancient, native and semi-native woodlands and woodland floors and will take evidence from peitioners Audrey Baird and Fiona Baker, and will then proceed to a roundtable discussion with Claudia Rowse - NatureScot, Arina Russell - Woodland Trust Scotland, Doug Howieson - Scottish Forestry, Andy Leitch - Confor and Andrew Weatherall - RSPB;
PE1856: Support the taxi trade;
PE1866: Introduce legislation to improve bus travel for wheelchair users;
PE1870: Ensure teachers of autistic pupils are appropriately qualified;
PE1871: Full review of mental health services; and
PE1904: Change Scots law to disqualify estranged spouses from making claims on an estate.
