The Parliament’s Conveners Group will question the First Minister on the priorities announced by the First Minister in early September. Key policies raised in the Programme for Government include measures for reducing poverty and increasing economic growth.
This will be the second time the Parliament’s influential Conveners Group will have questioned the First Minister. Wednesday’s meeting will start at midday and is expected to last for an hour and a half. The meeting will be broadcast live on the Scottish Parliament’s website.
Speaking ahead of the session, Deputy Presiding Officer and Chair of the Conveners Group Liam McArthur MSP said:
“Meetings with the First Minister give conveners the chance to ask him directly about the important issues their committees are exploring.
“This unique opportunity for scrutiny allows the conveners to explore in detail the impact of the First Minister’s Programme for Government on their work, as well as other matters that are important to their committees.
“In turn, this helps the Parliament’s committees carry out their vital scrutiny responsibilities in relation to the Scottish Government.”
