  • Motion reference: S6M-13035

That the Parliament congratulates the pupils and staff of St Ninian’s Primary School, in Livingston, on attaining a Gold School Sport Award from sportscotland; understands that this gold award is a national initiative designed to encourage schools to put young people at the heart of decision making, planning and implementation of school sport; welcomes that schools are encouraged to continuously self-reflect and improve and recognise and celebrate successful school sport models; commends what it sees as the valuable work of sportscotland in enabling schools to feel supported through the Bronze, Silver and Gold level stages to encourage and increase young people’s opportunities and engagement in physical education, school sport and leadership, providing clear pathways to life-long participation in sport; understands that schools hold their Gold Sport Award for two years from the date of the award, and wishes the pupils and staff of St Ninian’s Primary School continued success and enjoyment from their sporting activities.
