That the Parliament congratulates what it considers to be the gelato legend, Equi’s, on scooping seven honours at the Great Taste Awards 2024 and being crowned Scottish ice cream champion and overall dairy champion at the Royal Highland Show; notes that the multi award-winning ice cream firm scooped two stars for its much-loved traditional double cream in the long-running accreditation scheme run by the Guild of Fine Food, plus single stars for a further seven flavours; understands that this is the eighth consecutive year that the Lanarkshire-based company has been honoured at the renowned Great Taste Awards, an event regarded as the world’s most trusted food and drink awards and judged by over 500 leading chefs, producers and food critics; commends the century-old ice cream firm for continuing to put Hamilton and Lanarkshire on the map and contributing to Brand Scotland during its latest summer of success, and wishes everyone at Equi’s all the very best for the future.
