  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 23 July 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-13936

That the Parliament recognises and congratulates Chris Thomson, from Glenkens, after completing 32 ultra marathons in 32 days across Scotland; acknowledges that in completing this remarkable achievement he has raised £20,000 for various mental health charities, including Movember, Mind, Dementia UK, British Heart Foundation, Motor Neurone Disease Association, My Name’5 Doddie Foundation and Maggie’s cancer care; considers that he has also managed to raise awareness of mental health issues through his incredible efforts; believes that this is the first time in history that this feat has been achieved by running 1,000 miles in little more than a month, and wishes him further success in his future charity challenges.
