That the Parliament praises Alex Melville, from Ardwell Farm in Girvan, for his efforts in encouraging people to donate blood; understands that Alex has recently upgraded a large banner on his lambing shed, which asks people to give blood; recognises that, as this banner is visible to drivers on the A77, its important message is seen by many; applauds Alex for donating nearly 80 pints of blood and for trying to donate whenever he is notified to; notes that Alex started donating blood when his neighbour’s wife required a blood transfusion after giving birth; commends the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service for its life-saving work; thanks Alex for his passion in increasing the number of blood donations, and wishes him the very best for the future.
