That the Parliament applauds the residents of Renaissance Care’s Rosepark home and the pupils of St John Paul II Primary School, in Uddingston, for their participation in a joint sports day; understands that the sports day, held under beautiful summer sunshine at the care home, was a resounding success, bringing together two generations who formed teams and engaged in classic games such as the egg and spoon race and table tennis; further understands that the day concluded with a delicious spread and the presentation of special sports day medals to all children by the residents; commends the pupils’ outstanding efforts in regularly visiting the residents over the past three years, engaging in activities such as chatting, reading, listening to music, and participating in a bi-weekly knitting bee; believes that this ongoing interaction has had a profoundly positive and meaningful impact on both generations, fostering mental and physical wellbeing among the residents and promoting an active lifestyle; celebrates what it sees as these invaluable intergenerational friendships, and wishes all pupils and residents continued happiness and success in their future endeavours.
