Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP to the Scottish Government or the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. The questions provide a means for MSPs to get factual and statistical information.

  • Written questions must be answered within 10 working days (20 working days during recess)
  • Other questions such as Topical, Portfolio, General and First Minister's Question Times are taken in the Chamber

To ask the Scottish Government what its response is to research of 18- to 75-year-olds by Drinkaware, which suggests that, in the last year, (a) 47% said that they had drunk alcohol to improve their mood and (b) 58% said that alcohol helped them to cope with pressures of day-to-day life.

To ask the Scottish Government, in light of a recent report from Skills Development Scotland claiming that 11,000 early learning and childcare workers will need to be recruited in order to implement the early years and childcare expansion to 1,140 hours, how it plans to meet its target by 2020.
