Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP to the Scottish Government or the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. The questions provide a means for MSPs to get factual and statistical information.

  • Written questions must be answered within 10 working days (20 working days during recess)
  • Other questions such as Topical, Portfolio, General and First Minister's Question Times are taken in the Chamber

To ask the Scottish Government what discussions it has had with (a) CBI Scotland, (b) the Institute of Directors Scotland, (c) Scottish Chambers of Commerce, (d) the Federation of Small Businesses in Scotland and (e) other business organisations to raise awareness of the importance of facilitating paid time off for frontline workers to enable them to attend appointments to receive the COVID-19 vaccination and to accompany vulnerable relatives to their vaccination appointments.

To ask the Scottish Government what action it has taken to raise awareness of the statement made by the First Minister to any company failing to facilitate time off in relation to the vaccination process that “any company that does not behave in that responsible way that they should rectify that and put concern for their workers and fair work more generally at the heart of everything that they do" (Official Report, 17 December 2020 c 21).
