Question

To ask the Scottish Government what progress it is making toward meeting its target of building 50,000 affordable homes during the current parliamentary session.

Answer

I am delighted that we are making excellent progress on our affordable homes target for Scotland during the current Parliament. The latest Quarterly Housing Statistics show that since April 2016 to end June 2018 we have delivered 17,337 affordable homes, 10,641 of which are for social rent – keeping us well on track to deliver our very ambitious target of delivering 50,000 affordable homes with 70% for social rent.

This government can be very proud of its record on affordable housing having now delivered more than 78,000 affordable homes since 2007.
