Hamilton District Youth Theatre Celebrates 35 Years of Entertainment

That the Parliament congratulates Hamilton District Youth Theatre on reaching its 35th anniversary; understands that Hamilton District Youth Theatre produces and performs two highly acclaimed shows each year, and has established a strong local and national reputation for its quality theatre work with young people, including productions of Annie, Oliver!, Guys and Dolls and Calamity Jane; understands that, since its formation in 1989, the theatre group has embarked on many exciting projects and has taken productions to Hamilton in Ohio, New Jersey, London, Toronto and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe; believes that the local charity is South Lanarkshire’s best amateur dramatics group for young people aged nine to 25, offering opportunities to perform in the Junior/Intermediate Section and the Senior Section, where members build confidence and learn new skills in performance, acting, dancing and singing; commends the theatre on creating a welcoming environment for children and young people to meet new friends and access support and advice on studying and working in the creative arts; thanks Hamilton District Youth Theatre for an entertaining 35 years, and wishes everyone attending or taking part in Little Shop of Horrors at The Town House, Hamilton, between 21 and 23 March 2024, a memorable and enjoyable experience.
