Shetland Business Owner Awarded Scottish EDGE Funding

  • Submitted by: Beatrice Wishart, Shetland Islands, Scottish Liberal Democrats.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 01 February 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-12031

That the Parliament congratulates Shetland resident, Evonne Morrison, founder of Good Nude Food, on being awarded £100,000 to develop her business; understands that Good Nude Food, which was launched in 2018, is a multi-award-winning, probiotic, fermented sauerkraut company with the vision to be a brand leader in the growing gut-healthy, fermented food sector; further understands that Evonne developed her brand, Superkraut, after returning to the UK from New York and finding a gap in the market for nutrient-dense, unpasteurised sauerkraut; notes that Scottish EDGE is a competition aimed at identifying and supporting Scotland’s up-and-coming, innovative entrepreneurs through loans and grants; believes that Good Nude Food’s recognition by Scottish EDGE is testament to Evonne’s hard work and her business’s potential; commends Evonne on receiving the award, and wishes her all the best in her future endeavours.
