Mental Health Awareness Week 2024

  • Submitted by: Paul Sweeney, Glasgow, Scottish Labour.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 09 May 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-13133

That the Parliament recognises Mental Health Awareness Week, which takes place from 13 to 19 May 2024; notes the Mental Health Foundation’s theme for this year is "Movement: Moving more for our mental health"; understands that movement is important for improving people's physical and mental health; acknowledges that sport and physical movement may not be accessible to everyone; considers that more support is needed to improve access to physical activity and sport; recognises that movement does not always mean sport or intensive exercise, and highlights that the 2024 Mental Health Awareness Week encourages people to consider making any small changes and movements that they can find time to introduce into their lives.
