That the Parliament congratulates Emily Appleby, Callum Graham, Leona Routledge and Robyn Stevenson, from Stirling High School, on securing first place in the 2024 Young Pathfinders Climate Competition, together with being awarded the inaugural Young Pathfinders Sustainable Art Challenge trophy; understands that the Young Pathfinders programme brings together pupils from schools across Stirling and Clackmannanshire to explore the challenges and opportunities presented by Scotland’s transition to net zero; considers that the programme is an opportunity for young people to develop employability skills, including problem solving, teamwork, communication and creativity; acknowledges that the programme is managed by the University of Stirling as part of Scotland’s International Environment Centre (SIEC); considers that SIEC is a pioneering collaboration between the university, Clackmannanshire Council and Stirling Council that is driving productivity and inclusive growth in the Forth Valley, and notes that SIEC is funded by an investment of £17 million from the Scottish Government and £5 million from the UK Government as part of the £214 million Stirling and Clackmannanshire City Region Deal.
