Former Castlehill Primary Pupil’s Defibrillator Campaign

  • Submitted by: Pam Gosal, West Scotland, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 07 May 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-13093

That the Parliament commends the efforts of Megan Thompson, a former pupil of Castlehill Primary School in Bearsden, in her endeavour to procure a life-saving device for the community; understands that her campaign for a defibrillator at the school was born out of personal experience, following her diagnosis of supraventricular tachycardia (SVT); acknowledges what it sees as Megan's resourcefulness and notes that she successfully raised the necessary funds through the sale of 400 cakes at a bake sale held in her garden, and a sponsored walk to the summit of the local mountain, Ben Lomond; welcomes the installation of the defibrillator on the gates of Castlehill Primary, ensuring accessibility to the public at all times, and wishes Megan the very best.
