  • Submitted by: Craig Hoy, South Scotland, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 14 March 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-12493

That the Parliament welcomes the creation of the UK’s Small Business Council; recognises the addition of Andrew Bissell, chief executive and founder of heat battery manufacturer Sunamp to its 18-strong board; welcomes what it sees as the innovative solutions being developed by Sunamp, an innovative and ambitious heat battery manufacturer, which is based in East Lothian; supports the development of tech-focussed SMEs in the South Scotland region and across the country; commits to creating a greater understanding of the role of tech-focussed SMEs, and further commits to working with the Scottish and UK governments, local authorities, the private sector and other agencies to remove regulatory, policy, skills, location, physical and financing barriers, which, it believes, restrict growth in Scotland’s SME sector.
