  • Submitted by: Craig Hoy, South Scotland, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 13 March 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-12490

That the Parliament welcomes the latest round of Asda Foundation grants in East Lothian; notes that the grants, which, it understands, have totalled more than £1.5 million in community projects and good causes in Scotland over the last two years, are designed to make communities around Asda stores better places to live and work for the company’s colleagues and customers; welcomes the awards of £400 each to the Pennypit Community Development Trust, the Rotary Club of Dunbar, the Dunbar Grammar School Association and the Countess After School Club, with an award of £800 to Macmerry Miners Welfare; notes that these projects were nominated by the people and communities in East Lothian, and thanks all those involved in these groups for their efforts and commitment.
