Military Veteran, Willma, Braves the Cold for Charity

  • Submitted by: Finlay Carson, Galloway and West Dumfries, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 20 February 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-12208

That the Parliament congratulates Willma Gray, a resident of Glenluce, Wigtownshire, a military veteran of 25 years, who has recently staged a month-long camp in her back garden to raise funds for the Galloway Community Hospital in Stranraer; understands that the 75-year-old pensioner hopes to raise somewhere between £1,500 and £2,000 that will go towards the welfare of the patients; acknowledges that she has been doing this for a number of years now and hopes that her previous winter warfare training in Norway will stand her in good stead during her latest outside adventure, accompanied by her springer spaniel, Max, and wishes Willma continued success in her future charity-raising efforts on behalf of the local community.
